Hi there guys, after a full rebuild of my 90 I have completely rebuilt my brake system (for the first time) - setup is now discovery 1 axles and discs - copper pipes and hoses - and TD5 pedal box (used - but seems good). After multiple bleeds (3) the brakes still need 1 or two 'pumps' to firm up and brake well, when they bite they are strong. Once pumped the pedal pressure will sustain if you hold it down. I think I have bled it correctly with a pressure bleeder (but am new to brakes) - have tried isolating each caliper with pliers and this did not appear to work (would this isolate a caliper problem??) - the vacuum servo seems to be working - there are no obvious leaks. A friend mentioned adjusting the pedal as it may be coming back too far when released - but I am a day away from calling in a professional! Any thoughts guys im desperate???

Mm master cylinder where u refill fluids. It new or old ? U have put a damper in line for the back brakes ? If u used disco axle u changed from drum to disc etc. maybe look at pushrod adjustment on the pedal. U bleed from furthest back first to the nearest etc ?? I used two man operation and jam glass with a tube. Never fails. Let me know
Cylinder is used but in good nick - no obvious leaks and hold firm pedal after a single pump. presure bias valve in line for back brakes - this is mounted vertically - will that matter??? cylinder reservoir is the highest point. TD5 setup so used to back discs - How do you adjust the pushrod on the pedal???

its prob just bit of air in system had same problem myself before, is your easy bleed the one that works off the tyre? they seem to be the best that ive used i just left the bleed kit on pressured for 10 mins before bleeding then bleed alot of fluid through each nipple there will prob be some air at top of system , it worked for me hope helps

Pressure valve no vertical or horizon no matter. Pushrod I mean at the master cylinder reservoir there is rod and nuts inside behind the reservoir that goes to Brake pedal. But if u pump once and it becomes hard This is telling us air in line somewhere. I think if I can guess air trapped. Try rebleed completely on each nibble etc as d90matt said

Good luck and let us know. Did u reuse the calibers on the old disco axle ? Did u replace the pistons inside. Could be the seal letting air in etc. common fault
