RK ,, it was packed in 1978 and been in its box ever since then .. its a Lockheed part and completely put together wrong .. shocking I know but it was military contract so I presume there mustve been loads built like that then thrown away when they didn't work ...
who knows but I cant really go to Lockheed complaining as I should think they would just dismiss it anyway after all these years .
Bled the system tonight and there appears to be feel in the pedal now and it stops the wheels now so tomorrow night or Thursday ill get the wheels back on and try it out down the field ;-)

right i think it is the master c all along bloodything was not leaking any fluid thats why i did not think it was that at fast::/ just got a working 1 or so they said  and put it on just got to bleed the thing and see if that works! everything else on the helldisco brakes works cool the v pump sucking aswell as me....well am not going to say:D but if the disco keeps fcking up its goin to have to go :( its just as i fix 1 thing something else dies on it  anyways i will keep you up 2 date cheers

ahhhh goddam thing still not working  wot the hell am i doin wrong?? iv had the wheels off now! the brakes look old but they still stop the wheels. got myself a Vacuum Pump test kit! the vacuum pump reads its sucking over 400! and holds the pressure!! so wot the hell can it be?? CALIPER are old could it be them ?? please help this disco as its goin to be scraped if it dont f&*king start working right and does any1 know wot the name of that thing little pipe goes to??

Start with basics

Pads and pistons should slide easily-if ****ed they wont

If you have bled brakes master cylinder can go too far-release pedal tap master cylinder and press pedal again repeat

OK as i was bleeding it the nearside front CALIPER did not bleed!! sod all came out of it ? so got that off opened it up and it had abit of **** in it. the pistons are not good and hard to move and pitted:( will that make the brakes go hard?? anyways put all back together and back on the disco they are abit better but still hard on the pedal . it has it be the calipers as iv gone though everything else and time+money :( cheers for the help guys :)

will do that james ;) il rag it about down the lane . i still dont know wot the name of that unit that little pipe goes to?? its next to the airfilter !! :frusty:

thats not the unit dude! its a EMISSION CONTROL VALVE SOLENOID ERR 3314 find it by looking up Cruise control tho cheers :D there is 1 pipe off and i cant seem to see where it go,s to:confused: iv have put a vc tester on it and its sucking though the unit  does this unit have a feeder?

ok i give in:Cry: getting a new VACUUM PUMP it has to be that :dizzy:well the disco has got new brakes all-round now cheers every 1 for the input :p but if this dont sort it am goin to go mad with axe on the thing .

sorry dude didt mean to be rude it was how it just stopped working made me think it was not the pump! wot happen was the disco had get a piggy back ride off the AA coz a fuel line problem the next day i sorted that! it was sucking in air at the sedmenter so i bypassed that and took it for a spin then the fcking brakes stopped working about 200 yards down the road on a hill:eek: there was no warning as the brakes had been cool the day before  anyway lets hope this new part gets it sorted this time.
