if i, or anyone else was so blatant they would rightly be slagged off for spamming

why is he different ?

i have NEVER advertised my business on here and have given my help and advice freely and without question on the basis that this is a community - i have driven many miles collecting items and dropping them off for people - and have sent many items to people for free - yes free - it ****es me off to see people clearly using LZ for their OWN gain

Theres a few members that have a link to their webpage..its helpful and often you get a post saying..send a pm to such and such..when you ask about welding or accessories..

It's advertising, yes, but apart from an initial post the transaction is conducted 'off-site'...I've got nothing against BBS guy, loads of people are glad for the stuff he markets...but it is a blatant use of the forum to conduct a business..

many more people have done just like you,and that is to be applauded,but bbs guy is not in a position to just nip out and go picking stuff up and dropping it off is he,no doubt if there was an item in cyprus that neede picking up i'm sure he would do the same.i too have given stuff for free,collected stuff for bods,wrapped it organised couriers etc.so what,its no big deal is it for gods sake.he has helped people by making his products and selling them,yes selling them thats how people make a living.why dont you spend years working out the specifics of a very complicated system,make the unit that can read and fix faults and market it.i bet you would take every opportunity to try and sell it.

yes but he isn't the only one who does it is he storm.

No, he isn't...but as i said most people only have initial contact here..where can i buy some sliders for example...they get directed to a member or two, we hear no more. This bloke comes on and there are pages and pages of info on updates/faults etc...theres a big difference.

ok i agree,but does affect you in anyway shape or form.does roy or accy get the hump over it???.no they dont because he is helping members on here whether directly or indirectly.who cares.

Well then if everyone here who runs a business started opening threads there would be spam all over the place..Look what i just made, See how good i am at welding, i could advertise what my sideline is and ask for help with planning etc...it'd be chaos. Theres a for sale/wanted thread but even thats difficult to find for a lot of folk..

No not at all, if you knew me better you would not say that. He gives people less than his standard discount on some items and they are all over him like a bloody rash. I don't doubt his stuff is good, there are many on here who would say that. I have advised people in the past to get one of his products to read faults, as have others, word of mouth around the forum should be sufficient. But he is blatantly advertising trying to drum up custom at every opportunity. This as far as i am concerned, is an help community were people help others free of charge and not for reward or favour. He never does anything without reward or favour or some advantage as far as i can see.
