Start a thread mate - there’s a few of us doing disco restorations and we can aid you with it as one of us will have done the tasks you’ll have to. I guarantee that!!Plucking up the courage to go out and start today it’s been raining all morning and 2 flat tyres to pump up so can be moved into a workable position
a 'cheat' for butt-welding (where theres acces) is to clamp a piece of copper or brass on the back-side of the joint, the weld puddles aginst the copper or brass & its easier to weld thin metals with less burning holes or porosity, also helps to have a tarpaulin draped as a 'tent' to block windsame story as you, blowing through etc.
