@KISSMYAURA think I've got away without too much contamination. Can't see any oil on the blades at the back of the red plug, or on the chipboard. I'll give the area behind the red plug a spray with bpc anyway while it's open

Gonna clean that plug and socket out today and put it back together then hopefully crack on with injector seals and service when I get paid...unless I leave it a bit and see how it develops....but I'm picking a caravan up in 3 weeks so need it working lol

All cleaned and back together. Sure it sounds better on idle, take it for a spin in a bit. I've put some wynns injector cleaner in, maybe snake oil but it might help when I come to take old washers off

I use this, and swear by it, been using for about 5 yrs now.
My caddy was at 121K miles used it three full tanks later, pulls like a train, much smoother running and better starting.
Its also a Cetane booster so dont have to pay extra for 'super diesel' etc.

Check my build thread for what it did to my defenders emissions print out at MOT time, the garage were well impressed with readings.
Lasts for ages too, we use it for every fill for 5 tanks to clean and clear, on a new addition, then double shot after each service, also pop a shot int he diesel filter before replacing.
We have 4 diesels at the ranch!
i expect most additives are the same (parrafin n thinners) but this is the first one thats ever made a noticeable difference..

Oh yea and dont spill it!!! i has a horrendous fug that will not go away!

I paid a skediver for 130ml so the Miller's is quite cheap ain't it. I'll be trying that next time. Got the diesel bmw as well, does a lot of short journeys so be worth a punt in that

yep its like the budgie......cheap! can it on flea bay cos opie wants silly dollar for delivery etc, think halfruads do it as well

Took it a good run last night, started on the button and ran fine so chanced it and took it to work this morning. Well, tried to. She cut out on me at a crossroads :D got it to side of the road and ran purge sequence 3 or 4 times and she started up. Back home QuickTime, jump in the beemer and got to work just in time

Roll on pay day

Right, now that's over

I can start enjoying it again :D gonna try and burn as much of the ****e out the exhaust when it gets a bit darker in the evenings next week  I got some disgusted looks today, it was bad lmao

But I've ordered a decat front pipe and straight thru middle cuz I want it and why not and I want to treat myself and the kids liked the noise in the disco and it's cool so there :p

If I can get it fitted before Saturday when we pick caravan up happy days, if not I'll hopefully burn enough out during the week :D I can use my moms chaps x-trail if I need to but fooook that ;)

One more bolt to get out of front crossmember then I can fit it :D it's stiff as feck and graunching, I've cleaned it up quite well and soaked in 3in1. Just need another pair of hands.
I'm guessing I need to whip the x-member off and jack chassis up to get clearance to bring downpipe out?

Got the turbo to downpipe nuts off ok, bonus.

Pull the xmember off and the cat pipe will drop. No need to jack it!

Xmember can br tricky to get back in, i used a trolley jack to push mine back in.

Got to read your seals thread, i wanna do mine soon but cant really afford it to be off the road as i havnt a spare car!!

Happy days, should be done tomorrow then. Forgot to order turbo to d/pipe gasket but got exhaust paste....?

Just read my last post on there mate, the rest will just confuse and over complicate it!:D it's easy, just be clean as feck ;)

So...
Exhaust all on no probs. Flexi on original was all split anyway so worth doing.

But I've got a little issue. On cold start up, it starts at a flick of the key but runs slightly lumpy, not too bad but also will not rev at all until a bit of heat in the engine. About 20secs before it will rev with a blip on the throttle. White smoke as well......all clears when warm and revving freely, it's running really well to be fair.

There's literally hundreds of threads detailing these symptoms so I'm not going to start another 1!

Possible causes range from fuel filter thru fuel pump all the way to bent conrod

Cracked head? Faulty injector? Sump levels ok and no smell of diesel on dipstick...

Fuel pump sounds strong, it's quieter than ever after doing seals. I've unplugged the MAF ready for starting in the morning but Im not holding my breath.

Main concern is I've bent a rod during my misadventures with the injector seals. Yet it never ran for long at all when it was knocking on both occasions.

I'm going to change the oil again the weekend and change all filters as I only changed main oil filter after diesel in sump so hopefully new fuel filter will sort it.

I'm not throwing parts at it until it goes away, if the new fuel filter doesn't help I might just get a compression test.

@jamesmartin it's your time to shine....:D

@KISSMYAURA you alright pal? You've been quiet lol
