After apr 30 years with my Trakker seats, I am my bottom are sick of em (probably within 2 years).

Any way that I could move onto a newer seat which can still allow access to the under seat tanks (vehicle is on a 100" chassis)?

The cockpit is extended by about 12" so modern seats will be perfectly fine. It just needs to he legal and allow access to refill the underseat tanks.

Series 3 delux seats are quite comfy and easily removable.

Oh I disagree with that, they are better than the standard seats, but I find them harder than a church pew.
I would look at fitting defender seats, I straight swap I believe, and you then have all sorts of options of finish etc, and retrim kits are readily available to do covers and foams if needed.

Apologies! Mine were changed to defender seats about 10 years ago! They are under seat covers and I completely forgot!

They are still a PITA, but less so and I did not know that there were alternative trims available apart from standard foam and trims.

Still up for a better seat from a modern car, though - with an option to use with underseat tanks.

IN good condition defender seats are very comfortable Supportive and very gooD. If they are 10years old Probably just need a refurb to get them up to the comfort levels of a modern seat, for me (heavier than I should be) a seat base lasts about 2-3years/50-60k miles before I replace it because it is losing its concept and support. Like all things they wear out and do not last forever. You may even find that the backs are alright. Seat bases are not expensive and even exmoor trim ones are not bad and may be worth trying before you look at anything more drastic (link).

You will struggle to get a modern car seat that still allows the seat base to be lifted/removed to access underneath as they are fundamentally one peice seats.

Agreed with above, any very comfortable and modern seat won’t have the ability to give access and may not fit on the seat box. I would nosey round Exmoor Trim’s website as they have a few options.

Thank you all. This forum has NOT lost its skills and talents, since I first joined. ❤

I will look at getting the driver seat base retrimmed with the best booty-protection I can find.
