Im marshalling the Wales rally gb next weekend so I've pinched the cb out of my off roader to put into my puma just for the weekend but I'm having trouble finding somewhere to route the cable in, it's a gutter mount and on my old Landy I just drilled a hole for it but seeing as this is only a temporary job I don't want to do that, I've tried putting it through door gaps but they seem too tight on the cable and are damaging it, its a defender county hard top, help!!! :(

On mine I pulled off the door seal right at the top corner towards the front of the car and put the wire through and then put the seal back up. Mine is a lot older than yours so may be different or you may have less gaps than mine!!

Have you got vent flaps on the bulkhead? Can you put a fish tape through a grommet behind the dash or up through the gear/hand brake levers?

Or just through one of the rust holes in the bulkhead or foot wells? :D

As its only temp why not just shut it in door and if it damages wire replace it.

Let's face it if you can afford to keep TWO defenders on the road the you can afford a new cable :)
