bench seats and the law

daughter and her Fiance say they are willing to sit in the back of my series 3
if i fit some bench seats, is there a law or something i should be aware of before doing this ,we do a bit of gentle greenlaning to get to some woodsand go for a walk

If your daughter is over 12 then there are no legal issues regarding them sitting on the bench seats, just don't forget to tell your insurance co. about the extra seats though.

Are people allowed to sit in the back if there aren't proper bench seats there? My series 3 just has cushions that sit where the benches should be, no backrest. They're bang on the right size so I thought they were original but I've not seen other people with them. Insurance is down as 6 seats.

Hardly ever use them anyway as it's pretty uncomfy back there but it would be nice to know.

As always it's got to be down to insurance co and their coverage of your vehicle if there was a crash. Anything not declared as a mod that isn't factory, your not covered.
