Hi I've been offered a 90 for £500 but it needs work, It needs welding and I've not heard it running and it's not turned a wheel for a couple of years ! It looks like it's had some money spent over the years ie jacked up suspension and fancy wheels with big bulky tyres, it looks like a monster truck ! I was thinking if it to far gone for me to do up surely for £500 if I was to sell it on
I would make a easy profit ?? What are your thoughts ?? I do fancy one as I'm a keen shooter and it would be handy. Cheers

It would be hard to say without seeing it. Sometimes if it's too good to be true it probably is. But who knows you might be lucky. If you can weld ok then it might be worth it. But if the chassis is too far gone. And the engine or drivetrain aren't brilliant then it mind end up being problematic. If it's been suited up and had serious money why would it be layed up unless it was something serious? I don't know the answers to these questions but it might be worth finding out. I'm rebuilding an old farm hack. Was used regularly but had mice living behind the seats. Chassis was a mess at the back and it's surprising how much the cost piles on even doing all of the work yourself.

Pictures and engine type would be useful to know.

Your probably right mate it is to good to be true, I'm a mechanic and a decent welder but struggle to find the time to do vehicles up these days, but I was thinking fro £500 the wheels must be worth£250/300. I'll have a think about it

I'll get some pictures when I go up later, it's got a 200tdi in it. He said It was running fine when he parked it up but he ended up buying a new nivara

For £500 someone wants to get shot of it. Don't see many project landies on eBay go for under £1000 that often. But you might make the £500 back just in selling the extras on it.

You cant go far wrong. If the tyres hold are and have tread they are worth a bit, easily sellable parts are worth a bit, a scrap man will pay for the left overs. Take a good look at it. If you can transport it and store it somewhere it sounds like a winner. Of course, if its utter junk dont bother.

It's not stolen, he was driving around in it for a few years before he parked it up and got his nirvara. Basically he's a spoilt brat and doesn't care for his things. I might not get it yet, he said I could buy it last year but then pulled out last minute now he's offered it me again.

Buy it. My mate's just bought a 86 Ninety for £400. It's got tinworm all over the chassis, engines a slow as sh"t 12j with 240,000 on the clock and it needs LOADS doing to it. He's got the time and space though and the way we look at it is he can spend £2k on it to bring it up to scratch and at the end will have a Landy worth at least £2500.
Bargain Landies are harder to find these days, so grab it!

Worth buying at that money. Cheap 90's are getting very hard to come by. But I think you knew that anyhow
Seriously if you don't buy it send him my way and I will :p I'm in need of a project if I can find one for reasonable money :frown:

Well he's not rang me like he promised he would, he does want to MOT his pickup on Monday so if I don't get the Landy his car will get it with both barrels !!
