fair guess if not trashed and tidy is 7-10k depending on market, but as storm and I have proved it varies wildly

not selling beast- she's my 6th child:eek:

but insurance company needed a value- tried to fob them off with a " its the average price for its age and mileage" but they wanted a proper figure and hadnt got the absoltute foggiest - not even to the nearest £5K

In that case...15 grand..and i'm serious...find some high priced similar to yours, ebay..autotrader etc..print them off and send them to the insurance company..i bet you a pound to a piece of **** they pull their finger out and do their job properly!

Why should you value it? At end of the day its them that decide the payout so get them to do the donkey work til they come to a figure you agreee with...i'd say 11-13 grand agreed value if you play cards right

yup aim high, check all the online sale sites, piston heads,4x4 web auto trader, trawl dealerships and pick the plumpest prices that suit you, rekin around 10k should be doable

Cheers for that chaps- will contact them tomorrow with some adverts :)

something Storm said earlier about his being worth more now than when he bought it......

if I got it for £20k from a dealer in 2000 ( had 500 miles on clock ??- Iwas second owner ???) and its now worth say 8ish

is that crap, reasonable or great depreciation over 10 years ???

Im not sure but the higher the rebuy value the higher the premium . I have been led to believe its better to give a realistic value .

True but is it gets written off you need a realistic value to replace it, also with winter fast approaching the price can only get better

Its worth more than 8.

I'd say thats good...youve lost 50% over 10 years..most new cars lose 30% in the first year. Put another way..less than 100 a month...

Am feeling so much better about thought of buying replacement beast when time comes - kind of sold idea of beast to myself before coz of kids and room etc (but really coz just love it to death) - but serious pain for fuel and parking in town - (our towns gone mad with height restrictions to loads of car parks overnight for no apparant reason )- new 110 only has 7 seats so cant use seat excuse anymore so .........

now I can say its a bargin too good to turn down and I'd be made to not get a new one :):)

Get a 12 month old one next time...you won't get the immediate depreciation folks get as soon as they leave the showroom..but still have warranty etc..

Fenders do hold their price very well if looked after..i'd love a newer one but i drive mine like a chattering gibbon with no regard at all for other road users...and its used to transport engines all over europe..so i'm happy to have the grunt of my piglet without worrying about how much its worth..it'll die one day...then i'll get another..its great!

I was a bit landy naive last time when I got this one- went to one local landy dealer and coz needed one quick ,as old one had died - they found one in Bristol and I took it - no looking at alternatives or price comparissons or price negotiations - I must have been a salesmans wet dream :eek::eek:
