This is what i fitted to my 2.5 diesel with Valeo alternator. VALEO VERG1060 VOLTAGE REGULATOR GERMAN 17200 107825 VW FIAT CITROEN PEUGEOT | eBay I know this is 14.2 set point. There is another one called up for Landrover VERG1019 but i don't know what the set point is on that. Fitted the VERG1060 two years ago gives 14.2 and still working.
I got this one from the bay of E, item number 271072108072 it has a 14.7 set point. £11.99 + £3.69 p&p Fitted to my spare alternator which I fitted to the car yesterday, works a treat.
Anything other than a full calcium battery won't like that Alan.
Do the rf remote mod better than disconecting the blue wire and will rule out becm being woken up and draining battery.
Difficult to get an automotive battery that is not lead calcium Alan, as long as you battery is of the sealed type, it will be L/COh, I spoke to an auto elecy and he said it was the one listed for the diesel.

14.2 volts is the norm on the later diesel, 14.7 will be fine.

I did look through but somehow missed your post.
so , after all this nonsense about batteries , alternators , etc etc etc WHY OH WHY did you not check the r.f. receiver 1st as you have eventually realised after you disconnected the blue wire that the receiver is the problem which once again I repeat that it is 99.9% the cause of FLAT BATTERIES so either do the switch suggestion , "not for me though " or buy a new receiver circa cost price £260.00 part number available on one of my older posts .... also check for reason of spurious signals to receiver i.e. where you live ????? new Wi-Fi etc etc neighbours etc etc ... put blue wire back on or burnt out door locks will cost you more money ... this is for everyone , once you have locked car up at night with it in park watch the red light adjacent to park position !!!! once the fob has activated immobiliser and alarm the red light slowly fades and goes out . THIS happening has now sent the B.E.C.M. to sleep ,,,, this now stops battery drain if all is well with receiver ,,, so in reality there is 3 reasons as to why it would wake up ....
NUMBER 1 === YOU UNLOCK CAR WITH FOB
NUMBER 2 === SOME ARSEOLE PUTS A BRICK THROUGH WINDOW
NUMBER 3 ==== RECIEVER IS FECKED AND KEEPS WAKING BECM UP HENCE FLAT BATTERY NEXT MORNING .......
