Battery Drain !!!

Hi. For the last 12 months I've had this problem of the battery draining over a couple of days. I replaced the battery earlier this year and replaced the alternator a month ago, But still the same! Difficult to test each circuit as they're are only 3 fuses. Does anyone know if a stater solenoid or starter could cause the problem?Many Thanks for any help.
 
You can measure the current drain by connecting a multimeter set to amps in series take a battery lead off then connect one lead to battery and the other meter lead to the battery lead, likely you will see milliamperes - amps current flow , then start on the fuses pulling them out to see when current flow drops , then you can test individual circuits by disconnection
 
If you take the fuses out then that's a good start! You could measure the amps across each fuse to see what you're dealing with
Petrol or diesel? The starter on mine is permanently live, try disconnecting and see if the drain goes away
 
This time of year I would go out now in the dark take battery lead off and just touch it to the connection if you see a spark you have something draining it.
 
I have a similar issue with my 1977 station wagon. There is a slow battery drain even with all the fuses removed. I believe it to be a fault with the alternator. My battery will drain to the extent where it won't start the engine within about 2 or 3 weeks depending on the ambient temperature. If yours is drawing the battey within 2 days, it's loosing a lot of current somewhere but if you don't have any circuits powered when parked try pulling the plug off the alternator and leaving it for a week to see if the battery still goes flat. You need to start this experiment with a good, fully charged battery.

Diodes can leak the wrong way. Putting a DVM on the amps setting between the alternator and the positive cable will show off that's the case. When it's not running!!!

great tip never heard this one before I’ve been rewiring a new engine in and had live leads hanging around so had sparks when connecting up but none now as all sorted
 
Might also blow the fuse in your DVM if current too high.
Another method is to put a test lamp between the battery lead and terminal if it glows you have a drain.

That's true, but most will take 10amps. If the drain is more than that then there's a massive issue and you'd definitely see a spark off the battery terminals!
