FINALLY got all new wheel arches on.

Took some persuading with a heat gun but they now fit rather well. Fixed with ali rivnuts & A2 cap head bolts. With a bead of sikaflex for good measure.

Just need a machine polish next weekend

Hopefully going go fit the Pioneer rear axle hardline replacements I bought almost a year ago tomorrow! As well as front front caliper lines. Not a needed upgraded but makes working on the hubs/calipers MUCH easier!

Mega productive day, well weekend!

First up! Pioneer rear axle hardline replacements. SS braided, nylon sheath and a spring with SS fixings. Top quality! Only had them a year!:eek:

Also makes doing any work on the rear hubs 100x easier!

Also fitted front calipee hardline replacments. Standard ones are very fragile and often get in the way when doing work on the front hubs or calipers. Nice simple solution!

Especially for when I blown another CV :D:p

Finally a proper exterior deep clean, wax and polish :D:cool:

So shiny! I love how it looks when its clean!

Thank you :D

Snow foam & rotating brush

G3 scratch remover on an adjustable speed grinder (speed 1.5) and a sponge pad. Did the whole car.

Snow foamed and rinsed.

Turtle wax polish and lots of buffing!

Exhaust is coming along. All welded up (welding could be better but first time doing tube work!)

Coated with VHT 800c Matt Black, just looks a better and should stave off the rust a bit!

Next time try purging the tube with your weld gas as at the same time. Let us know if it was easier.

Looks cracking to be honest :)

Mighty kind! Im really pleased with it, got a few 100 miles on it now, no signs of leaking so its made some what well :p

I did read about purging, though thought that only really related to stainless ones to prevent internal rust?

Idea being its drive daily, gets 2 weeks off at xmas, maybe 2 weeks in the summer. Other than that its driving everyday so rust shouldnt happen in the exhuast!

Bit the bullet and bought an Allisport header tank....

The immediately painted it :oops::eek::D

Buzzweld Acid Etch

Followee by two coats of CIO - stable up to 200c so should be plenty!

Finally Buzzwelds Copper tone Resin+ Lacquer so it matches the rest!
20200409_203321.jpg

Will be installed with a new Allisport Top Hose, GORE Coolant block + a STACK Pro Coolant Gauge. Bit of an upgrade but well worth it imo.

Todays job! Little coolant system upgrade!

Finally STACK Pro Control water gauge, which will actually give me accurate engine temps!

Stays blue until it reaches operating temp, then moves to white, red when its too hot, flashes red when its time to stop :p

Also swapped out the old Provent hoses for some blue silicone ones, should last a fair bit longer. The old hoses where not a fan of the heat!

Isolation Day Two!

Refinished the rear crossmember as it was looking terrible after just two years

Also welded on some little end caps, finish off the sides. Before welding the cavity was packed with waxoyl and welded the spacers in place.

Ground back to bare metal across the face and underside.

X2 coats of Buzzwelds Rust Encapsulator (1can) after a solid clean!

Then x3 coats of FXLiner (1 can) face and bottom.

Also welded a skid plate onto my NAS step. Hopefully stop it it acting like a ground anchor when off road! Two holes for drainage and spanner access. Also packed with waxoyl after repaint the inside with CIO.
