Hey,

2005 Freelander TD4. Recently when i accelerate after changing gear they seems to be a dull bang. If i accelerate slowly i dont seem to get it.

I was thinking the drive shift carrier bearing? It doesn't effect the acceleration or the drive.

Any help would be gratefully received.

King regards

Rob

Reach under the car and push the prop shaft around, front, middle and back. If the issue is there it will be obvious.
If not then reach under the front of the car and push the front drive shafts around, once again if faulty it will be obvious.

I'd go for the rear front diff mounting Bush.

I have to agree that is something I would have to look at first, then maybe the front lower engine mount, if the VCU bearings look ok.

Last time I had a substantial knocking on moving off was with a Sierra Estate.

I found that one of the engine mountings bolts had worn a hole which should have been round to an oval shape. This meant that the engine could rock on this mounting.
It was caused by a Ford dealer who had previously removed the engine to carry out some work for me and not torquing the mount bolt to the required setting. I was lucky in that I was able to prove they were responsible and got it repaired free of charge.
Obviously there are other possible causes for your issue and this is just one of several.
