Freelander 1 Bah - Needle bearings!!!

replacing the boot othe prophshaft while I have it off to change the VCU - putting the tripod back on I managed to knock one of the bits off - needle bearings everywhere! Could I hell as get it all back together again. Checked the other two and notice that one of them has bearings missing as well - ended up just ordering a new one from Ebay - I will get this bloody prop back on at some point soon haha.

I’ve done that a few times with tractor PTO shafts. If the needles are dropping out, isn’t that a sign that there’s not enough grease?

wasnt enough grease and bearing has worn to a point needles can fall out

Righty - good job I ordered a new one then. Hopefully get it all finished and back on next weekend - unless the sun is shining - then I might go fishing instead
