hello landrover fans i have a p38 diesal witch is sucking air i can see it in the clear pipe from filter to injection pump i have changed the fuel filter and there is no change so i changed the fuel filter housing and still no change.I do belive that the fuel is loosing pressuer so its runnig back to tank so when i try to start it it has to lift fuel first pls help thanks:)

Thaks to both of you for quick reply i have got a new pump for tank did u fit yourself or did a garage do it thanks

If you have air in the clear line bleed it out. The lift pump cannot suck air. But if the lift pump is not working the injection pump can, past the O rings in the filter lines. Or from a split pipe in the tank. Check the lift pump for function. Check the spill pipes for leaks. They could be sucking air when engine is stopped and fuel cools and contracts. That action could also suck air past filter O rings if spills are good.

Thanks my friend i am confused because when she is runnin she ie sweet a pulls great but i can see air in the clear pipe pipe and its continous. The O rings are these the ones on th filter housin ?
