Ok I'm going to have to tackle this, the pins must be half thickness, and I have to lift the door when closing, are their any shortcuts for fitting say new pins, or is it a big job ,?

Not a big job, hinges are cheap, been on there long enough and although there are "fixes" they don't last and will let you down sooner than you think.
Remove the spare, cut 2 lengths of 2x2 one to go directly under the door and the other needs a hole in it for the top stud on the wheel carrier to stop the door flopping around, remove the door card and the bolts are easy to get to, takes a bit of fiddling to get the door lined up and sealing properly but once done you're golden for another 15yrs.
I took the spare off the back door as I never really liked the weight hanging off the back and as my Disco is a commercial the spare is strapped down in the back so there is no unnecessary weight on the back door.

I don't quite get it, the 2x2's are just to stop the door crashing to the deck ?? And the worn other half will I not need to grind/repaint ??

Hinges are one piece affairs and I found it easier to do them one at a time and try to get door aligned before touching the next or you end up fiddling with both hinges at the same time trying to line them up

Perfectly fine.
Genuine are better but I am not sure you're willing to remortgage your house to buy them.
