Just got my 110 13 plate defender back from the garage after a service and the new drive belt that they fitted has started to break up on it. I will call them in the morning about this as they were shut by the time I got home. If this snaps while I am driving back to them will it do damage to anything.
Thanks.

Not familiar with your (later) engine but if it fails you will almost certainly be without PAS, alternator charge and possibly water pump not to say what damage the shredded belt may do.

No way would I risk it.

Thanks for advice, mechanic came out to me from the garage with a new belt and fitted so all is well. He basically said the same, don’t drive if that belt looks like it may snap or is damaged, not sure really why a new belt would break up, he had never seen it before, all the rollers, pulleys on the engine are fine so that was not the cause.
