the fuel may smell good but get rid of it. Basically drain and change everything fluid ( personally)

Hi guys,
We have some life! We turned her over with the starter motor with no problem. The radiator was not leaking, the oil came out clean.
Headlights came on
We just dont have a key and I am not sure how to start it without one.
Does anyone know how to start it or where to get a key from ?

You can try another key of the right size, jiggle it about a bit and it might work but be very gentle

If you cant find a suitable single sided key, you can put a direct 12v to the coil and bridge the solenoid.
You may find the solenoid has a red starter button already...

It's me and I can give you an idea that might be of no use whatsoever but then .....it might be!
I use a plastic-type material which comes in the form of tiny 'baubles' which, when put in boiling water, melts into a mass. This can then be pressed into any shape and then it hardens completely and does not stick to anything you are trying to make the mould of. If it is not right, you can simply re-melt it and try again. I use it for making faux water, waterfalls etc. when making models. When hot it is clear but when cold it is opaque. It could give you an idea of what pattern is needed to make/buy a new key!
Now I can almost hear the comments so I'm off before I get chased!!!!

+1 on find the starter solinoid.that key ignition only turns the power on. There will be a button somewhere which is press to start.(look under the speedo housing)
The outer of that ignition is the side/head lights.
Find a link to the series 1 club who may be able to help with a key(that visible number is the key cut code)

An old tractor will likely have the same key type of you need a cheap blank

Tractors of that vintage have incredibly simple keys, if any at all, a switch sufficed for many.
I would be looking S1 club, as above^^^^^^^, or else a cheap British car blank of the same period, Morris Minor, Hillman or similar.
