Ordered all the parts to rebuild my 4.0 and went with arp head studs, my question to you knowledgable chaps is do I locktight these into the block or not?

Is it not just the normal torque to a figure, then tighten 90 degress then a further 90 degrees? Or something similar.

I would say using threadlock on head bolts is a definite no no.

you can loctite a stud but not a bolt ,but it isnt necessary ,loctite is to stop a fastening coming loose the stretch on head bolt is more than enough

you can reuse arp..so cant be stretch..nought wrong with loctite.DONT use much though.you dont want it on head where gasket goes.

after locktighting my arp main stud kit never again

if you speak to realsteel they say just put them in hand tight so thats what i have done on the headstud kit

####s up the ally threads tryna get em out if u need to I guess? and it says in the instructions with the kit you dont need to. You will have to ask em lol.

to the op i did mine in 3 equalish stages to 80 ftlbs

I noticed a couple of mine turned a little more on the final torquing but I guess the stud was just going in to the block a little more before it settled
