Anybody making defender door decals

I'm looking for the decal that starts off on the back panel goes diagonally down the door then ends with defender

I've been searching eBay but all I've found is a leftover door sticker so far

I daren't even ask landrover for a price

Does anywhere else sell them
 
Hi Wack,

I work in Graphic Design & the easiest way to get what you want would be to chat up a local signage/print company to get vinyl graphics made up for your landy.

Thats what they use on the sides of taxis and vans these days and theyre nice n simple to apply - theyre just like a big sticker. Its just a case of going over it with a rubber roller to work out any air bubbles as you apply it & if you use diluted washing up liquid on the panel first it allows you to slide the vinyl around a little to get it perfect.

Theyre fairly cheap too - one of the companies I've used before up here works out about £40 for a 1m square of full photo quailty print so you could prob get a fairly large graphic that would cover most of the whole side for £60-80.

Yeah I usually prefer to go to the shop myself (maybe coz thats what I do and I'm quite fussy about what I want) but I find it helps to explain to these guys what your doing.

It also allows you to get tips and learn stuff about applying the graphics (hence I found out about using the washing up liquid to help avoid permanent mistakes!) & it also means you know where to go if theres any issues!

I'd suggest finding a few locally and seeing what they offer price and quality wise (they should let you see samples of their work) or alternatively ask any taxi drivers you know and find out what companies they use to get their cars done & who they'd recommend
 
My family own a signwriting business so I would be able to produce anything you might want. I'm going to be making a set for mine soon so I'll put up pictures and a price for anyone who wants a set (anyother custom decals just message me) when I first got my Landy I got carried away and covered it in logos. I'll stick up a pic o them when I get home. I can arrange fitting for anyone local or post them with instructions and all bits of kit you will need.

I make signs/decals/stickers for a living but cannot print this on my printer (printable area is only 12 inch wide but that does the job for me).

Did the drawing based on an image in the parts book and some measuring on my own 90 with lift handle doors, so the contour for the push button door can be slightly off.

If you want I can provide with the original Adobe Illustrator file (send me a pm with your email address). You can take that file to your local sign printer and they will print and cut it for you. It's for a 90 but if you want it for a 110 they have to extend the striping for the tub (that's quite easy).

Will not post the original AI file in public, because there are always people around, thinking they can make money with files posted for public use. It's just my contribution to the Land Rover heritage ;).

Hi, Brand new member from Bulgaria here, can I also trouble you for the hi-res Images of the Decals?

I've been trying to buy a set for quite some time now and I've missed a great one on e-bay, just because the seller wouldn't ship to Bulgaria...:(

Hi - I have just joined the forum when I found this post.

My son plays with and rebuilds landys and makes comp buggies as well. I make decals and signs and he is needing a set of the Defender door signs as in the above posts and never found the drawings for them. I can make them from the .ai or .eps file and finally found this forum today.

So my message to Joadalama as follows - Would you please be able to send me the file so I can make for my son.. and maybe be able to help others out as well with other stuff in future. Sorry If I'm asking a lot on my first post as a newbie and I dont want to step on anyones toes at all.

This looks to be a very popular thread with newcomers... myself included. I've been looking for a set of reasonably priced Defender door / side panel decals for my 90 for some time without much success, until a fellow member of a similar Australian based forum (AULRO) pointed me in this direction.

Joachim, if the offer is still there and if it's not too much trouble, I would very much appreciate a hi res image of the decals I could take to a local printer to replace the set below.

I seem to have a thing for red landies. My other car, a Defender 120 (yes, 120 - its an Australian thing) is also red.

Cartoonhead, the second photo you posted (the 90 on blocks) is very reminiscent of what my 90 looks like at the moment. It's getting a bigger engine some diff upgrades.

What happened to the rest of your chassis tho? ;)

It's on a galv chassis now with a million layers of paint on top too!

Love your defender 120 mate :p
 
Hi all, did anyone get the original files from Joachim? I will be PMing him now anyway, but if I cant get them from him I will design a set from scratch. To all those interested, I will be able to supply these at cost + p&p for fellow landy fans. It will also be possible to have yours customised with colours, text or anything else you may like to add.

PM me with requests if interested and I will start doing runs. Photos of the decals applied to mine will be up following a respray.
