Advice needed please desperately. D1 1999 (1998 built) auto 3.9 V8 with LPG conversion - Leonardo 175. Won't start though started motor turns over quite happily. New dizzy, coil, dizzy cover, ht leads, plugs, rotor arm, ignition amplifier. Hopefully all connections checked and power etc checked by professional (i.e. - not me!). Had got petrol getting through but LPG gauge has no lights, doesn't seem to be the main fuse but may have another one I don't know about . No spark and no power to coil. Please has anyone got any more ideas, I've been reading all your posts and can't find one that sounds the same mainly because temperature doesn't make any difference.

Possible ignition switch fault...no power to coil I would check from there back you won't get a spark if no power to coil...

There’s nothing wrong with the ignition switch, if as u stated “starter motor turns over quite happily”
Iffy immobiliser maybe. Install a temporary wire from the vehicles battery+ to the ignition coil + and try starting. If the engine still doesn’t start, the immobiliser isn’t iffy.

Thank you. Will try that but may have to wait till next week if I need a multi meter anywhere as mechanic friend can't get back till then

Hi there. Mechanic put a power supply to the coil and it didn't change anything obviously and still wouldn't start. Good news for the immobiliser but bad news for the starting. Thanks for the info

you initially said there was no power to coil and no spark at plugs. you've run wire direct from battery to coil - at this point do you now get a spark at the plugs when you crank the engine?
if theres now a spark, then if its been sat for a long while, the petrol could be stale

Need to double check with mechanic as I was turning ignition key and he was checking spark etc. Last ran 17 days ago

Please can anyone help on the LPG aspect. Just wondering if the lack of lights on the gauge\rocker switch means it is not letting any fuel through. Lights only gone off recently but can't guarantee when compared to when vehicle refused to start

if there is no light on the dash switch, I'd check the main fuse to the lpg ecu first, mine is on its own feed direct from battery terminal
my lpg system is currently disable so no lights on dash switch. starts and runs on petrol fine

thank you. You have confirmed for me it should start on petrol anyway. Fuse checked but next is change fuse holder as it's an old one

Are the plugs wet after cranking?
true to form my darling vehicle has changed the goal posts. When RAC checked it when I originally had problems about 20 days ago it had fuel to the rail, just tried it now and nothing there. Plugs are also dry. Petrol and LPG in tanks

So focusing on the petrol side, you have no spark and no ignition!
I would work on the spark first then give it a squirt of brake cleaner in the intake then try it.
To me gas is a secondary issue once it’s running on petrol.

Do you believe the static timing is correct and do you believe the engine has healthy compression?
