You confirmed what I suspected, a bad earth and for that I thank you.
The alarm guy provided a possible location so a bigger thanks to him.
You then suggested I download/buy a full workshop manual. I was just saying I'd rather pay the garage. Sometimes you just have to give the greasemonkeys a shove in the right direction ;-)
