so all the coolant leaks are fixed, new standard stat, and all running good apart from the hevac unit.
so i noticed i had a few heater problems last week, i set the temps to minimum cranked up the air con and LH side is slightly warmer than the RH, i really noticed it if i turn the centre vent dial to hot (3 red dots) i'm get ambient air out of RH side and collant temp air from the left. anyhow i checked the coolant flow under the bonnet and it seemed the one valve was stuck open (coolant temp water from valve and out of the output pipe).
so when the car was in the garage having the water pump done i also bought a heater valve from a 2010+ car, it's the same valve but should be in better working condition, so got the valve, tested it worked fine on both valves. fitted to the car and i have the same problem, with centre vent on 3 red dots RH is ambiant temp LH is coolant temp. so i pulled the ATC ecu (the temperature control unit) and checked the wires, it turns out on the 26 pin plug, pin 5 is LH coolant valve, pin 6 is RH coolant valve, i have no voltage to pin 5 but i do have voltage at pin 6. best guess is the temp controls have gone faulty somehow. is there anything else to check? or is it just a replace job? i may just do a continuity check on the wire incase a short has caused the unit to fail.
