Hi Simon,

There is talk of coming up to eckington to watch but depends on childcare.probabky be in the works mobile Ref the CCV having issues with the carbs will refurbish them and crack on. Need to get to more events and drive this year and not carry a boot full of tools in the 90 as it just felt heavy driving around compared to normal especially getting going on the steep climbs.

Your motor was the smartest motor there looked great if it goes half aswell as it looks then your be lifting that comp safari trophy for sure

You would be most welcome at Eckington. I think it will be my first comp in this motor, or two comps as there are seperate night and day comps that weekend. I just need to splash out on a helmet and FHR and make a set of mudflaps.
There is a trial at Eckington this weekend (Hundall on our web site but the same place) I am going up for some practice.

:D:D:D Looks gorgeous, Owl. Absolutely stunning, well done. Great achievement. They're making me smile, so you must be like a Cheshire cat!

Ow now there a convo...... FHR I haven't however I'm not racing but if I was and had a quick car I think you have to spend a few ££££ on a decent hans.

Pics look great Simon!

Ralph does a fantastic job with his photo's, when you are competing you can't take pic's as well and his pic's are pro quality, I think we are lucky to have him at Nationals.
A Simpson helmet and FHR is about £1100, not cheap but how much is your neck worth. I know a couple of guys that have had to stop racing due to a neck injury and anybody who has had a bad wiplash can tell you how long the pain goes on for. I think they will become mandatory for comping in the not to distant future.

I think for me that was the best national that i've done! CCV was brilliant! Comp was even better, i even had fun marshalling in the RTV! your car looked great in the flesh! shame i didn't have a closer look at it! My helmet and FHR came too £700, slightly funny at first but i've done two events with it now and i don't even know i'm wearing it now. it's proved it's worth after the first event i did with it part of the course got cut up badly and there was a fair sized step which you had to approach slowly. i hit it a bit fast (10mph) the bump hurt my head went as far as the FHR would let it and my co driver's head carried on going and she didn't sit in for the rest of the day, so to me worth it! Also, protects your shoulders from the belts a little bit too!

I have recently done my first comp safari in the motor and really enjoyed the weekend. We didn't finish as I hit a very big hole at speed and bent a few things.
The shock compression damping is way off so a revalve is in order before the next event, I have Swayaway racerunner shocks and can only get shims from the USA, I am hoping Fox shims can be made to fit which I can get locally. My co pilot has a Gopro so ther could be a vid soon.

If I was a kid again, I'd have those pictures on my bedroom wall. :D
Obviously, the Mrs chooses what goes on now otherwise they'd be up tomorrow. :(

Hi Simon,

It's an LT95 and 3.9 on carbs probably my pet hate but it's together and runs ok. It's better than I am which isn't hard.

I need to make some double winged belt mounts and get the harnesses on double quick ready for the nationals. Either that or over a bar and to the floor. Probably he first as it's a tad easier. Mud flaps and odds n sods.
