Right I have just been dragged out of the workshop, got to go Turkey hunting.
Anyway the dimensions of the rear cover are 36" wide at the bottom, 31" long and 15" high.
I look like a flour grader so a quick blast off with the air line and then drive the Mrs down town.

Back with Turkey, We managed to get a fresh bird reduced from £52.00 down to £14.00 happy days. So now a cuppa and back in the workshop.

Im under house arrest til the weekend by order of the mrs and kids and not allowed near the workshop
Thats not fair. I have been in the workshop all day
my Mrs want me to get the comp motor done asap so we can go away weekends.

Hi Guys. I have got topside with the pattern for the rear cover and am happy with the shape. I now need to order some high build primer and other materials to take a mold of it.
It is a bit cold at the moment and probably the next few months so I may need to build a temp oven to cure any further work.

I have also done some work on the inlet manifolds, I have finished the welding and port matched them to the throttle bodies. Also I purchased some hose and clips to fix the ITB's to the manifolds.

And finally I have started on the center tunnel, it has been bothering me for some time because it is a very complex shape but as ever not so bad when you get on with it.

The tunnel above is a mold I will take the part from the inside. I will build some stiffeners on the outside then work on smoothing the inside.

I must admit trialing isn't really my thing but i am loving this build.
Is that just a custom hand brake going on in the engine shot picture? i first thought it might be a fiddle brake but then as your building a trialer i realised there probably not allowed?
Keep us updated, some really cool engineering going on.

Yes it is a hydraulic hand brake I have fitted two extra calipers on the rear axle as any hand brake now has to be independent from the service brake.

This is for offroad use only, anyway I think it would be a mammoth task to get it road legal. fortunately I don't have to worry about VOSA, the GOV or what the law wants I can build it how I like and go out and have fun.
Though I do have to comply with the ALRC regs but that is part of the fun as they make for close competition.

As long as you aren't in a hurry as I would want to test the wings to get them right before I made any for somebody else.
hopefully they will stand some hammer and look good. You do realise that Defender eyebrows won't fit, these will have HDPE spats that stick straight out from the wing which will make it easy to scrape the mud out between laps.
