Alpine XQD101550LNF popping speakers

My old radio used to turn its self on with the ignition off, I would go out to the Rangy in the morning to the radio playing music.
So I thought I would treat myself to a ebay bargain same radio as my old one.
It was fine when I first set up the new radio but today a load popping noise rom the speakers when turning radio on and off and changing station. It still plays music but with the noise.
It sound like the noise is coming from all speakers even with all settings and volume at its lowest.
Any help would be greatly received

Sounds like you have the Harmon kardon in your car if so the popping is the DSP amp on the fritzs

Well the speakers have not popped since the other week but now the new radio has started turning its self on when the ignition is off.
Are all p38's possessed or is it just mine.

So you replaced the head unit and cured your popping noise???? Yes they are possessed

No, My original radio kept turning its self on and off with the ignition key out, also If I turned the volume down quickly the radio would turn off so I was thinking the on/off volume potentiometer was on its way out.
So I treated the RR to a new radio same model number all seemed good for a week then just for one day the popping noise (this never happened to the original radio). its been parked up since Saturday and tonight went out to get some gas and noticed the new radio was on playing radio 1 and now the radio has all the symptoms the original radio had.
I'm thinking now Just get the adaptors and put a aftermarket cd player in and start removing/ replacing the Harmon kardon system which is a shame as the sound quality is great.

OK couple of things to check 1st

1, main connectors to your DSP amp if you have the separate amp instead of door amps
2, white connector in passenger foot well for corrosion
3, the popping is pretty deco the amp iv got the same problem traced it to a smd in the amp

I'm still trying to get a duff amp up n running so I can offer a repair if needed to members on here

Hi, apart from lpg the rangy is completely original.
Yesterday at work I made up a iso to phono adaptor going to try a kenwood cd player it has 4 pre outs.
If all fails I will swap the complete bose system out of my A4 it will be stripped in the new year as I'm using the engine and loam for another project.

I don't think it's radio problem, looks like swithed +12V is getting power from somewhere else
Maybe poorly made lpg electrics are causing this.

The lpg system was fitted by a registered lpga company before I bought the rangy and yes the wiring was shocking but when the radio was on I checked the feed for pin 7 ignition feed and the voltage was zero until I turned the ignition on.

Check earth point for radio.
Anyway, it's not worth keeping stock Alpine head unit - it makes it sound very harsh.
