I had noticed too, but I was going to let @neilly answer. I'm not sure about the capabilities of the Lynx in the area of security, but if your Lynx is unlocked for a P38 then it's unlikely. Also, at the time any kind offer which you were making was really a bit too far south to be of assistance.

It may in some strange fluke work, but in reality I cannot see it working.

Having said that if there is someone local who has one, even if they cannot use it, they may be able to give good guidance to the OP.

Does anyone have the specific instructions on how to disable the immobilizer on a d2 please
And if anyone is near Sherborne in Dorset, I have a TD5 nanocom to assist :)

your post is a little convuluted, are you saying you want to disable the alarm on YOUR personal D2?

And that you have a nanocom and are looking for some assistance to use it?

IF yes to the above then why not put a new post up rather than hijack another?

Sorry, yes - someone mentioned earlier in the thread that a Nanocom could disable the immobilizer but didn't explain how - so I was trying to get the specific instructions on how to do it.

In another part of the thread someone was asking about anyone local having a Nanocom to help out - I was just volunteering that I had one and would be willing to help anyone locally who needed it :)

It seemed to be useful info to add to the thread rather than start afresh seeing as it's a hot topic thread in a google search.

I have to ask, exactly why would you want to disable the immobiliser on your D2, and as @The Mad Hat Man said, Nobody is going to publish that sort of information on an open forum. Full and detailed instructions for using your Nanocom can be downloaded from the Nanocom website.
Thank you for your offer of assistance, particularly seeing as you aren't exactly local ...... to Moray in Scotland! But hey if you want to go to help, then who are we? If you really do want to help other members then by all means take a look at the LZ International Rescue section and follow the instructions for getting your name on the list.
 
I've downloaded the Nanocom instructions - reason for disabling is a pair of plips that are intermittent despite replacing the bodies and secondly an ignition barrel that has problems getting the key in and out. Removing the immobiliser will give one less thing to worry about.

Will be up in Fife just after Easter if that helps :) Am looking at LZIR now too!
 
When I bought the Disco, the plips were very knackered - so I bought a pair of new bodies and batteries from eBay and swapped them over - but half the time you have to really press hard to get them to operate. If I could find a supplier of very high quality, perfect fit replacement bodies then it might be better - but the chinese copies are rubbish.

By "plips" I presume you mean the buttons on the fobs. This could be due to a poorly fitting case, a poor quality case, although I have used ebay replacement cases with no trouble. It could also be due to faulty or failing switches behind the buttons. The fobs can be reconditioned quite cheaply, but at the moment, I can't remember where. @neilly is the boy with such invaluable knowledge.

I think we have discussed this before, maybe one of @SteveClv first posts, I too have never had a problem with the ebay specials, but for the price of them i would buy a few from different places and hope to find one that worked.

Ref the key refurbish, then for £15 there is that place that does them , the contact inof is in the alarm issues attachment here.

I have found that Perrys are selling brand new ones on eBay for £32 but for a Rover 75 (433Mhz??) - did I read correctly that these can be programmed using the Nanocom to work on a Disco 2? They look a bit different from the Landrover ones but still 2 button.
 
Hi Steve,

I have never tried to see if that version will work, the Rover 75 and 45 keys that look like the D2 ones will work, as discussed this evening on another thread about the nanocom, but they do not have the passive chip that will work with a D2. ( again this is in the first stickie in the disco section) . But they require the car to be programmed to accept them.


There are lots on Fleabay for approx 12~15 quid.
