Hi guys, heres a weird one. Today I decided to adjust my steering wheel. It was reluctant to come off so I hit the back of it with a mallet. This did the job but then the flashers started flashing. I thought it was the hazzards but no. All indicators flashing but not from hazzard switch. The car tehn refused to lock on the central locking on the alarm. I removed the fuse for the central locking and the hazzard lights stopped flashing. I decided on a little more investigation. I ut the fuse back in and followed the sound to the brown relay. I removed this and the flashers stopped and the locking stared again but without the one flash warning. I changed the relay to another sitting there and it all started the same again. I now have the brown relay out in order to lock up on the alarm and not have flashers going all the time. Can anybody think what I may have done? I'm sure that brown relay is there for more than just flashing the flashers once when the alarm is turned on. Also where would the fault be? Obviously not with the relay as the same happens when another is put in. Have I nicked a wire that I cannot see or has a plug come un done that I cannot see?
Car is a dec93 L reg 3.9 auto.
Any help is well appreciated as I've only just picked the bloomin thing up!!

On a P38 Range Rover if the hazards started flashing and the doors all unlock/refuse to lock then I would guess at the inertia switch. Im not familiar with the Classic's but go through the manual and see if you can find any reference to a inertia switch??

Hopefully someone who knows more about Classics will be along soon.
