ALARM FAULT Message

I have a message that come up every time I put the key in the ignition

(ALARM FAULT)

I have bought a second hand ultrasonic sensor from eBay (with warranty) and the fault has not gone away.

ive been advised to buy a nanocom unit, which looks like a great bit of kit, but at the moment I don't have the funds to buy one.

is there anything else I can try to fix this problem.
also if I did rob a bank and bought one of these nanocom units does anyone know how to use it and can they guide me on how to fix this fault.
