That ain't right, unless you're using really crap batteries. I change mine as a matter of course every 12 months; using Duracell CR2032 batteries.

CR2032 button batteries are as cheap as chips these days. For what they cost, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Oh really? The keys only 2 months or so old though, will see what they say!
Nah don't have one at the mo, wouldve really helped last night! the old key works, badly, for now so gonna find out about the new key this morn

Just noticed by going on the website that remote key sent me an EKA code when they refunded me for returning the programmer, oops. Don't think I noticed that, may help me out in future!

Haha tbh I haven't looked into that department on the Hawkeye, that lot scares me, I've read somewhere that you can disable the alarm through the BCU with a Hawkeye maybe? Which will be useful until the key is sorted, as haven't answered the phone yet!Right , that does it..........From now on you will be called ..........................Rodney.....or Rodders...........
Also , can you not read it with your hawkeye?

I know it has been said, but it is well worth trying a good quality battery.. I used a poundstore special as an experiment ,lasted all of a week or two.

Nope still no answer, grabbing a new battery just in case it is that but if not will keep trying to get hold of someone and if its not that then will look at the receiver maybe

Right finally got round to emailing remote key instead of ringing and a chap got straight back to me regarding a possible desynchronisation of the key, and he gave me a process to try involving resetting it and repeatedly unlocking till it responds, and it did!! So the fob is now working okay tonight and will get the hawkeye in tomorrow to enable the alarm and immobiliser and should be alright chuffed again!

The re-sync or re calibration is not for the d2 its for the key itself, which I assume is exclusive to the keys that they sell, but the process read...
1. Stand close to the car.
2. Press and hold the Unlock button down.
3. Whilst doing this, press the Lock button 3 times.
4. Then release the Unlock button
The key is now in Resynchronisation Mode.
Once in this mode, press only the Unlock button.
The Unlock button should be pressed about once per second, several times, until the car starts responding to the remote key again, this make take a few minutes.
Once the car has started responding to the remote key, press the Lock button. The remote key will then exit Resynchronisation Mode, and the key will then continue to work normally.
Took me less than a minute of continuous unlocking
