Edited for accuracyThink - Seasoned - Wisened - Matured..knackered.
Tis the new EU MOT rules, any warning lamp illuminated is an automatic fail now. Testers that are not familier with the ABS/TC lights on the P38 are going to be failing them left right and centre. It was a fail but VOSA deemed it an advisory for all of last year, because there was some discontent about it. The argument being is a car with an SRS lamp on and maybe the system not working any more dangerous than a car not fitted with SRS. The answer to that has to be no it isn't. So why it is still not an advisory i do not know.

Love the EU don't we
AFAIK all new EU rules this year will be advisories only with a fail in 2014!
Bingo!oooh ok - well diagnostic first or possibly the steering wheel coupling thingy for him to replace me thinks as it a 1995 I don't have side airbags or seat belt thingys - correct ?
Taking it for a long run should charge the battery above the point where it won't trigger the SRS when the engine is started, but the registered fault still needs to be cleared from the system, so you will still need diagnostics to reset the warning light/system (if low battery voltage is the cause of the SRS warning in your case).

Highly likely!Yes the ABS light and the TC light on until the car goes above a certain MPH do you rekon the testers are going to fail them then if they are not familiar with the p38??
