Can someone please help with some suggestions...

Disco 4 has decided it doesn’t like holding air anymore decided to completely empty its bags on the M4 earlier, made for a very bumpy ride.

For someone who isn’t a mechanic but has all the tools and the patients of a detailer, DIY job or leave it to the pros?

A code read will be the first thing to do. If that doesn't highlight any relevant issues, then you'll need to check the live data, to see where the air pressure is being lost.

Has it been any issue up to now? ie slow to reach ride height/the odd random bings and quick flash message on the dash, sititng down on one side or the other after standing all night.
Rare for them to just fail, there are normally clues.

Had a few only normal height available in the past and struggled to go into full height but first time it’s just “**** itself” and aired out completely

Then I reckon you have a compressor fault, first sign of an issue they need a service/tlc.
If the compressor still runs you might get away with new filters and dessicant (ebay cheap) if no run then you need to check power supply from under bonnet relay and behind nsf wheel arch liner.

Compressor is still running, managed to air it up to normal heigh this morning but again the front end just dropped after stopping to go shopping will look into the filters this evening

That sounds more like a valve block issue, again ebay o ring kits to rebuild all three blocks under 20 quid.
Front block is behind drivers side front foglight/whee arch liner, rear one is behind nsr wheel on top of chassis, gawd knows where middle block is!
Vids on youtube on how to
Dont run car to long as it as compressor will suffer.
