Yes, the previous owner changed the piston seal and told me he chipped a bit off the old piston.
Ive not stripped it down to see how badly damaged it is but its getting changed.
Rear ones were changed last year for 2nd hand ones by previous owner....I will plug the diagnostics in before ripping anything to bits though. It should arrive next day or so.Good luck! Follow Datatek's airbag guide and you should only have rust to contend with difficulty-wise
I changed a rear airbag in absolute pouring rain so it can be done; had umbrellas wedged between the car and a hedge.. Didn't last long

No need to plug in diagnostics first, follow the instructions in the 'how to' section. I did my airbags recently and it was soooo easy.
