Hi,[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]

I put a post asking for advice on changing a second hand FIP pump. Well having made no progress forward I took it off and had a look inside. Definitely rough and a bit concerned by the amount of debris!!!!! The chap I bought it from has been very helpful and sending me another. Thought some might like to have a look. Feeling a bit feed up and worried about the injectors?

Might wnat to flush the system out, though in theory the filter should stop any junk?
Do you know what micron the filter filters down to?

Flushed the fuel lines through and decided to have another look at the FIP I fitted new seals on but could not get it to run nicely. So swapped some bits and set it to the marks I put on the body, fitted and timed and engine ran away. Is someone had offered me a £5 or just to take her away would have let her go..... but carried on and had a fiddle and touch wood is running as well as she ever has! What a damned job it has been though! Interesting finding out about ve pumps though. Headlining and front wheel bearing (abs light comes on) next on the list. Good to have a hobby......

Did you follow my how to guide ?
I did biketeacherdave. Not sure what I had done wrong the first time I did it but think I hadn't got the pin in correctly as adjusting the top of the pump made little difference. This time when I moved the top of the pump there was considerable difference. Starting and running sweet at the moment! Your idea of only removing two bolts at a time to fit the pressure head seal on: just genius! Fascinating but of kit a FIP or am I just particularly sad? Have even been watching the bosch training videos and Mr Britannia in Canada!
