Agreed yearly milage Insurance again

Got my 3rd years insurance certificate the other day.
put it down, never read it properly..
today was the awakiner
the 1st years was agreed at 8000 per year,
but there was a clause where if I never informed the Insurance Co.
of milage as from start date of 2nd year insurance, more charges would follow.
with trepidation, I looked at milometer for a total,
works out just 500 miles under maximum allowed..

I does 7500 per year in me old Disco, bless her little rattle,
and thats all none going to work miles too!

gave that work stuff up 10 years ago...

Oh, If my speedo cable ever became "detached" for any reason, I could use my little plug in speed check thingy that reads real time MPH !!

I have a 6000 mile limit on my Range Rover, never come close to it. Between MoT last year, and this I'd done not much over 2000 miles.

iPhone ap 'dashboard' gives you all the info you need if your cable is faulty, it can also be flipped and used as a head up display.

must be nice to have a landie or rangie as a 2nd/3rd "car"

mine is now my only "car"
used by daughters if big shopping trips beckon,
son if the local tip needs some more not needed now Items,

but then I can borrow there cars at times.

12 years ago, my then second hat was in a minicab,
but not in any landrover product (reliability LOL)
but mainly fords doing up to 300 miles a night each weekend.
10 years before that was my only hat doing 300 miles per night,
doing that 6/7 nights a week, so saw the miles grow alarmingly.

now a retard full time for the last 10 years, I`m happy with my life and landie,
although I have my bus pass

oh and my scooters when its not dam cold

I even take pleasure in National Express coaches on 60 mile trips back to me old hometown that I take from time to time.......
I just get comfy, and let the driver do his job fer an hour and a bit

problem being I dont have an iphone,
I`m a old age penshuneeer :crutch:... LOL

but I do have one of them talking speed cam awareness fings since I got knicked fer speeding.....

the comment I made was tongue in cheek,
as by law

you need to know your speed,
but I dont "need" more miles than I have to only do per year,
so if the occasion ever arose, my speedo cable my just come undone fer a while,
fer "inspection uses only"

Having not taken a 90 speedo apart I'm not sure if this can be done back in my youth I had a mini and had the same problem with insurance so I used to use it for a bit ( to add some mileage on it) and take out the speedo and you could pop out the rod that worked the odometer so the speedo still worked but the mileage never moved then just do the same each year
Then there was another car I had that I just swopped the clocks over with a second hand set to keep the mileage down
Now days it even easier you just get a man to plug it into a laptop once a year
Hence I never buy a car on its mileage alone just assume its done more

ooh, the insurance companies are going to have a field day with this thread, speshly if yous told them you were part of landyzone to bring your premium down

Back to the original post guys.
Has anyone had a problem with insurance companies over exceeding annual mileage requirements.
I have a limit of 8000 and last year did about 7000 as now retired and don't do a big milage.
anybody any comments?

well, could always talk to your insurance company about milages, but dont expect much discount for just 1000 miles.
worth a try though mate.

let us all now if its worth the extra discounted miles eh?

does being part of a group of extreem nutters really give you a discount,
or load your policy before they agree to a discout being more then when you 1st asked?
