Easier to fix the standard remote or set up the BECM to work with just the key blade and no remote.Hi is there any way to fit aftermarket remote on p38 without getting the battery to drain ?
Same here, I haven't had an issue since fitting it, marvellousI found the 2nd remote to be a bit of a pain (although it worked perfectly) it was just too much junk in my pocket.
Marty's filter @£79.99 was the answer for me, resolved the overall issue and the original fobs all work fine.

I removed the receivers years ago when I put aftermarket remote on it the first timeThe battery drain is probably the rf receiver looking for a signal from the remote key if you fix the original ones so the system works you can then fit a second remote switch between the rf receiver and the becm that will stop all signals getting to the becm and waking the system up cost about £15 or a gen 3 reciever that is about £300
Drain is from the current aftermarket remoteOr fix the drain
If I make it work with the blade only and install the aftermarket remote would it still drain ?Easier to fix the standard remote or set up the BECM to work with just the key blade and no remote.
As standard, the code from the P38 FOB is needed to turn off the immobiliser.
If it's the aftermarket remote causing the drain then yes.If I make it work with the blade only and install the aftermarket remote would it still drain ?
It is because car thinks it’s being closed from insideIf it's the aftermarket remote causing the drain then yes.
Ah, that's new. Closing from the inside should not cause a current drain. Search for BECM sleep test.It is because car thinks it’s being closed from inside
Did it and light kept onAh, that's new. Closing from the inside should not cause a current drain. Search for BECM sleep test.
So you have to track down the cause of the BECM not going to sleep, you could start by checking the ultra sonic sensors for the alarm.Did it and light kept on
The ones that are in the roof are missing lolSo you have to track down the cause of the BECM not going to sleep, you could start by checking the ultra sonic sensors for the alarm.
No beep or warning or anythingDo you get random beeping and never get to see the warning sign? Bonnet catch can also cause this
