Do we have an friendly agent or contact as my tetraplegic dad is getting **** from them.

For years the broker Charwells knew he physically can't drive and he paid insurance for any driver over 25 to drive him.

Now it seems they are accusing him of driving and unable to produce a licence:doh:

He'd love to be able to still drive but no adapt-ion is available to allow him to drive- so his van has a ramp and is only suitable for able bodied driver which is how he gets around with carer driving him.

Really is a **** take, they are threatening him for being truthful, it is their **** up if they renewed and didn't think to ask about a disabled vehicle.

Have written an email for him as it is ridiculous to suggest he can drive it- they are welcome to see the vehicle and him=impossible he can drive it.

If they carry on with the nonsense and threats, I will be contacting the ombudsman as it is blatant disability discrimination when he has fully answered the questions for years and not attempted to hide anything.

I've sent them a PM
We see how it goes, don't know if dad surrendered his licence years go or if he still has one-either way the broker knew he could never drive and the vehicle is adapted for transporting him-until now never an issue

Quite concerned about baring holes on this thread:eek::eek::eek:

Lets see what they say first, hopefully they will accept there is no way he can drive it and their agent should have asked more questions if they didn't look at brokers information properly.

As I'm sure you can understand my Dad because of his condition is reliant on his vehicle for hospital, doctors and shopping.

Hopefully this is just a miss communication, as what they suggest as I gather -they may as well ask him to walk on water.

Who is listed as the main driver?

I think the sticking point is he pays the insurance, but doesn't drive it- he has moved several times since 1990 and his accident and never had an issue.

There has never been an issue before now having a policy that allows any driver over 25,but not him as he can't.

I can sort of see their point though. The insurance needs to be in the main drivers name as your dad obviously can't be the driver.

that wont matter - I pay insurance on cars on whicjh I am not the main driver.
My mate always pays his daughters insurance as she is at Uni - there should be no problem with who pays the policy - only that it is paid!
