that wont matter - I pay insurance on cars on whicjh I am not the main driver.
My mate always pays his daughters insurance as she is at Uni - there should be no problem with who pays the policy - only that it is paid!

Its not who pays...its who's driving the most. If its not the main driver then they can refuse to pay out. i.e. if they can prove that a son is using his moms car all the time and not the mom they can refuse to insure:eek:

the policy has to be in the main drivers name, if the policy is in your mates name but his daughter is the main driver he is breaking the law, in an accident if they can prove it they wont pay out and insurance invalidated

used to be cheap and commonplace for parents to insure a childs car in the parents name and named driver the child even though the child was the usual driver but utterly stupid if people are still doing it given how insurance companies investigate nowadays

you dont make it clear who's policy it is, only who pays it but for anyone unaware see this...

See here for more info on the offence of 'fronting' and how your siblings could end up in court for no insurance which can have jail implications and anyone caught doing it can be convicted of insurance fraud...

Had a PM from Dan at Adrian Flux to which I have replied, hopefully he can sort this out as stress free as possible as I have explained the situation.

In this case I would like to Thank Dan at Adrian Flux for dealing with the issue and offering to chase it up again at 4pm as he was away from his desk till then if it wasn't solved.

my Dad called just afer 3pm and was relieved it is all resolved.

good one. Have you managed to reslove what the problem was/is, for next time?

Charwell Brokers who Adrian Flux took over I believe somewhere along the line it got lost or misunderstood as to the fact dad pays the policy but IS NOT A NAMED DRIVER.

Dad has always had a policy where he paid and it was previously understood he couldn't drive- so like a mini fleet policy if you like with any driver over 25.

Obviously they know it is disabled modified, but failed to consider if he could or could not drive, assumed he could and wanted to verify his driving licence
(which I seem to remember was surrendered years ago), but since crumbling spine and metal rods in his back and learning how to talk again his memory isn't great on some things and he can't remember and it is academic anyway as there is not a conversion that would allow him to drive available.

So my poor old dad had more chance of walking on water, than driving-
Thankfully Dan from Adrian Flux was kind enough to help sort a genuine misunderstanding.

So Dads carer can continue to take him to his hospital appointments, grocery shopping and an art group he enjoys going to once a week.

Just to add to this I also found Dan from Adrian Flux extremely helpful with a recent problem I had, as well as the lady(Amanda) I spoke to on the phone.

Refreshing to deal with helpful people given the reputation of insurance companies these days.
