I have been prepping my Disco 2 (2003) to go to Malawi (Central Africa). Part of the work I have done is to completely remove the ACE and replace it with set of non-ACE roll bars. Everything has gone well.

However, the one problem I can't seem to resolve is switching off the ACE warning light on the dashboard. I have a HawkEye and have tried clearing all the DTCs associated with the ACE, but they come back the minute they have been cleared. I have removed the two accelerometers, but still the light remains on. I've tried taking the multiplug out of the ACE ECU, but the light still comes on and the HawkEye cannot access the ACE system (obviously).

My question is this: How do I disable the electronic side of the ACE system and extinguish the warning light permanently? I have a HawkEye v5, but cannot seem to find out where I can tell the system that ACE is not installed?

Any help greatly appreaciated.

Okay, finally got the answer. The light cannot be switched off without replacing one of the ECUs. Basically, the fact that the car has ACE is hard coded into one of the ECUs (not sure which one) and this ECU must be replaced for the light to be extinguished.

Black electrical tape it is then :D

you are wrong .ive just done an ACE removal . you need to change the settings from air to coil . using the Hawkeye i cant remember exactly but its in the chassis or programming section and when you access it the hawkeye will ask "currently configured for air ,switch to coil? yes or no " or something like that

That is not correct. I have just sold a De-ACE'd TD5 and it had no lights on the dashboard at all.

You need to access the SLABS ECU using your Hawkeye - from memory I believe Hawkeye calls it "Body" under the TD5 menu and this allows you to do a number of changes under the "Programming" menu - such as telling the car whether it is on air or coil springs; ACE or non-ACE ettc.

I've had my Ace turned off by accessing the ECU. It was done by an Auto mechanic No more light on dash so it can be done.

Malawi can you tell me did you replace the ACE with Etreme ARB if so was it easy to fit and can you please give me a pictur of it fitted. I need to replace mine and need help with what to buy thanks
