OK you are all going to think I'm a total numpty but this is a serious question.
Took my daughter car shopping in my newly aquired Tdi Defender. On the way over the moor the accelerator pedal stuck down. I just pulled it back up again with my foot and continued carefully. Yes I know I should have investigated but I was only half a mile from the garage we were going to. It happened again pulling in so the mechanic had a look.
Apparently it was the mat causing it. He said I must be pushing it forward with my feet.
These are genuine original defender mats. I am now being careful and pulling it back with my foot regularly.
I usually drive in Muckers, Dubarries or similar boots. But surely Defenders were designed to drive in similar footwear. Is it something I am doing or is it a common fault.
Any ideas on how to stop it happening again. Its not very safe. Should I just get rid of these mats, I dont think my last land rover had them, but then again it was a wreck.
