Apart from dismantling the car to pieces or setting fire to it i think im about done with this L322.

So a recap. TD6, 2002. Cant access Airbag nor Air suspension ECU's. Air suspension inactive but as i cant access the ECU i cant read the faults. Tried two different landy specialists both with different kit. Both confirm they cant access it either!

So the electrical bits which didnt work on the car is:
Headlight wipers,
Rear Wiper,
Rear Washer,
Memory seat function,
Column lock,

I did the rear pads a couple of weeks ago. Broke pad wire. Ordered new one but the second i turned it on with the pad wire broken it put quite obviously the pad light on but also the air bag warning light?! So replaced pad wire and pad light is now out but airbag light is still on! Guess what, i cant read code as i cant access the bloody ECU!!!!!

So as a final stab in the dark ive tried a replacement BCM. I think the BCM is the general module and may have been causing issues. As a matter of fact after fitting it the memory seat function now works! However i STILL cannot access the airbag or Air Suspension ECU. Short of ripping the centre console out to get to the airbag one im out of ideas.

Ive checked continuity on all canbus and k bus wires as far as possible between air suspension and cluster. Ive scoped the canbus and K bus and after consultation and studying documents on the internet both appear to be working.
Ive tried replacement EAS, ABS ECU's. Ive tried unplugging just about every other ECU i can on the car except the airbag one.

Is ANYONE on here in Wisbech or say 50 mile radius i can drive to so we can try my EAS in your car to check it works? I can run my diagnostics on it and see what the faults were. If i can just get the dam Air Suspension to work it would be great!

Rear wiper washer is the motor unit.. common fail.

Barke Pad wire and airbag are not interconnected.
EAS not sure about.. still getting to grips with my L322

I was having weird faults show but were only soft faults so switched off and restarted off we would go again, next time in garage faults stored as fuel pressure issue.Came home and did some googling as did not believe fault due to L322 TDV8 was running like a dream i found a mention of same faults on another forum the chap renewed pressure rail sensors, fuel pump, rail and a few other bits and still had fault he noticed rear brake wear sensor had been broken and glued back on he replaced and fuel rail faults went away ??? .I was checking my L322 rear brakes and found rear caliper siezed and destroyed disc we replaced caliper new disc and pads ,replaced hand brake pads aswell and guess what no more fuel rail faults ??? Plenty of others though thats problem with L322 beutifull to drive and a bitch to own .

just read my post back should of said they reckoned strange signals being sent from broken brake wear cable upsetting ECUs who nose !!

Sorry for your woes:(

Don’t think bad of it, you will enjoy it. It doesn’t need a match it needs TLC. Then it will give you all the pleasure you dreamed of:)

All I can say is fix your know problems first, checked in the back for water?
If you can’t connect have you check the diagnostics socket? What diagnostics do you have?

The rear washer not working is really common and probably leeked water in the boot for a while before packed in (well mine did ) unplugged for a while then found the fix on the google stripped down and cleaned (full of gunk) spindle seal was leeking purchased from ebay bit of a faf but cured leek its a start i think my biggest worry as allways is hoping i can DIY on a budget not allways easy these days just replacing air bag struts ouch !!

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for 5 mins and given it a reboot so to speak and Also I found on my 2002 v8 a new battery cured most errors.

I’ve got a Snap On Verus. It’s also been tried on several independent landy specialists diagnostic equipment. One of which was automaxis I think or autel, can’t rememebr. He said the use it for everything on L322’s so should of worked on mine. I’ve done continuity tests on all the wires from diag socket. I can’t access 2 ECU’s. I can access the rest. I’m tempted to take the centre console out and check the air bag ECU. Just seems stupid the light came on at the exact same time I broke the rear pad wire!

Weird one I noticed yesterday. When cranking, the HDC inactive and the two yellow warning lights flash up for a split second? Bad earth somewhere?

Not sure about jlr my bmw inspired 2002 vogue actually hasn’t been the complete pain in the arse I was expecting in fact it’s been reliable and bits I’ve needed to fix have been fairly easy saying that I’ve proberly just given it the kiss of death

Didn't Saint have a headlight blow and cook something taking out one of the CANBUSes? Might have been ABS ECU? After that anything downstream wouldn't communicate because the ECUs are daisychained. Pretty sure he had a monster thread soon after he got his first L322 showing how he slowly worked it out.

He did, not sure he ever found an actual answer.

Never found the answer - it all of a sudden just started working again, I fear the same fate my befall this chap.

I have read this thread and the other the OP posted previously where I sent over the Bus System documents, he has done everything I would have suggested (and more) and not found the cause of the fault - I did similar when my Xenon lamp blew and took the reat of the diagnostics with it, I couldn't connect to anything other than engine OBD protocol (which is on a separate 'line' to the rest of the car - i.e. it doesn't go via the instrument cluster liek the others)....in fact iwould go so far as to suggest trying a different IKE (instrument cluster) and see what happens, but that is just throwing more money at it without a guaranteed solution.

I put up with my non-diagnostics issue and about 18months later it fixed itself and God only knows how or why! Sorry!!
