It's a L322 2008 Westminster V8 Supercharged and it makes a strange noise at the front and more to the right side. The sound stops as soon as I turn of the AC/Heater.

I new to this and can't figure out what it's coming from.

The attached zip-file contains a recording of the sound.

If it stops when you turn the AC off I'd say that points to the AC compressor. Not sure if the compressor is on the same side for LHD/RHD.

Can you put a long screwdriver on it and listen like you would with a stethoscope?
Seen that done when listening to bearings but I would expect a bearing noise to be contant.
Plus one. I spent a few days trying to resolve a similar issue on my wife’s car. It’s a rotating pulse so the best way to find it is trace the noise by listening to each rotating component. It could just be the belt tensioner!
At first I thought it sounded like the compressor clutch trying to engage but you say the aircon is working. Look at the compressor pulley, is the clutch moving in and staying in when you turn on the aircon button? If so listen to the compressor. The clues are there somewhere. Let us know how it goes.
Tricky.
