£2G ! Not even a DHSE.
No point on here, you Need to find someone that doesn't have a clue to get that price.
If he gets 1G for it he will have done well. Over a thousand your looking at V8 vogue without a single beep when you put the key in.

This is my honest opinion - I'm not taking the p**s.
Diesel, coiled, MOT, 187000. It's worth £5-600 mate, sorry

Is worth more if you strip it and sell the parts

Foolishly I poked around on the 'bay yesterday and was somewhat surprised how many cheap £2-3k 322's there were about - the Beckham wannabees will be all over them.

Sadly I think that the time will come where 38's will be more valuable dismantled than as runners.

The vehicle op'd isn't worth a lot as said.

It's because they are a chance. Everyone here understands you have to be dedicated to keep these machines going. Either with loads of cash or still cash and oily, bloodied knuckles.

Stupid money new, now few hundred £. But if Gbox or chains/FIP go could cost thousands more - for which you could get a younger L322 which people will think are a safer bet - lord save their souls

I disagree. I'm seeing these P38's going up in price & leaving some of these L322's in their wake.

These P38's are turning into proper classics.
Local indy garage came back to me lately with a comment over this, depends on which one you have..
Manual / Auto
Petrol / diesel
Coils / air..(working of course)
Internal colours
Gadgets.
Like all cars, no one model or level is a gauge of price, but the number of P38s that have been butchered or broken for parts, over the years, is now leaving the good whole ones in a good place.
Just DONT change that EAS..!! Ones with a good working suspension system are a few points up on the average 4x4 and (apparently) people like the good folks on here, are getting a better handle on the strange habits and peculiarities of the system and so it's now less of a mystery, more of a selling point.
We're all sitting on a goldmine..(maybe..!)

If you have a mint P38 Westminster, overfinch or 6.3l with 5figure mileage fair enough. Otherwise we will be waiting another 10years and the price of that inevitable replacement liners/gaskets/Gbox/FIP/chains in the meantime will sully the dream,

But also thin the herd for those that weather the storm ;)
