Either pick up a feed from the existing cig lighter in the ashtray, or if you want a permanent live run a fused feed from the battery.
A standard cig lighter socket with a plug in USB adaptor maybe more useful than dedicated USB.

I used the redundant rear ashtray...
There is a usb and lighter (and switch),
easy wiring to the fusebox, direct to supply (with in line fuse) so that its on when ignition is off.

I was thinking of a USB outlet by the rear seat release catch so the binlids can plug their devices in on a trip. I didn't look at how to wire it in though. The ashtray idea is good.

Wiring is easy - through into front of centre console (access by removing window switch panel), then under the carpet, under the drivers seat to the internal fuse box. Take it from the main live but do put a fuse on it.

Its all a bit of a bodge. I removed the whole plastic ashtray surround etc. and cut it up.
Cut and shaped a piece of wood to fit, drilled holes and fitted the bits with enough wire connected to reach across to the fusebox.
The wood is then just sort of wedged in, " an interference fit".
Good luck.

I need the cig lighter for the sat nav so what have people fitted and where?
Usually have to charge two phones at once

I've got one of those adapters that gives 3 sockets and battery indicator. However, I fitted an auxiliary power socket in the centre rear ashtray (from same power source) for rear passengers and also another one in the boot above the rear list cluster access. The latter I spliced into the 12S feed for trailers so it is permanently live.
