90 Rear tub support

I was under the 90 fitting the fuel tank guard the other day and noticed that the support bars that go from the tub floor out to the tub sides look like they may be on the wrong way.

Do they go the way I have them in the pictures or the other way round i.e. with the longest flat attached to the tub floor and then it goes down just before it meets the side?

Hi Harry,

Looks like your making some good progress on the 90.

I think they are round the wrong way, the end with the bend in it attaches to the outside edge and the long flat edge attaches to the body. From memory.

I can go take a look on mine at lunch (12) if no body confirms

i'm now ripping mine apart and the stays are the same way as yours are mounted now

i had the same issue, couldn't decide which way they went. When i fitted mine i think they will only go one way or they will foul the filler neck/tube.

if i remember correctly, if you fit them upside down they will collect all the crud in the top and rot out even faster

Cheers guys, I fitted them the way shown in the photos on the basis that they won't collect mud...didn't even think about the fuel filler!

I'll stick with the current way for now and when it's drivable again, try to cross axle it to see if the tyres hit them.
