90 exhaust silencer replacement

right then, on my 90 im looking to replace the mid box silencer to a straight through, i believe that it is an exhaust from a Turbo diesel and it has an 18 inch pipe with the silencer in the middle of the exhaust. if anyone has changed this before, any help would be much appreciated, i can add photos if it would be of any help. thanks, mat.

make one...cut off old flanges and reweld them onto a piece of straight pipe job done

That was my plan but al have to get the welders in work to do it . Last time I got the welder out a gang of pigeons were cooing at me lol

the 300tdi replacement doesnt fit the turbo diesel silencer, i think its too long

I got mine from M&M4x4, first one was to long despite using the vin number, got it right second time round.
Makes no difference to sound, fuel economy or performance.

I fitted a straight through pipe from MM to my TD5 and found it a bit too boomy inside - outside it sounded awesome!

went on to get a cherry bomb mid pipe from TD5 Alive, but still a bit too loud inside for my liking.... I've since had a field day with soundproofing, so might give it another go...
