Good point, but I suspect 10/40 being the commonest out there that is what she will have in her. Or 3-in-1she might have the wrong oil in her!
God forbid a 5w something!!

I'm with you on this one Tony. Its a car that is 19YO this year and while it "may" truly have only <15,000 on the clock it may have sat for years with old oil and deposits setting hard on the lifter NRV's.Give it time Rome was not built in a day.
Cheers 'enery!

20w50 is where it is at!!
After talking with Turners engineering and RPI both RV8 experts and some other RV8 digging.
As said in the Video the RV8's internal characteristics have remained unchanged since the 60's apart from bore and stock OBVS
so 20w50 is where it's at.
Oil pump?
Nah, it's the fahrten poppen sparking spitten tubenI need to make a recording of it I think.
One of you is bound to say..."That's the.....'semi-rotary flange sprocket on the back-pedaling thrust-wangle' you plonker".
No idea, all things are possible I guess.Oil pump?
If it was a bottom end knock it would be there all the time. The "noise" is disappearing sooner than before which seems a good thing and was what I was hoping for.
However, a horrible thought has occurred to me. The "noise" when cold is more noticeable under early acceleration.
Would valve-gear make more noise then? I hope my noise is not a bottom-end knock. Ooo-err!
