Hey Fett bit off topic it, here are some images of the choke conversion. There is asmall bag of parts in the package for mounting the linkage to your inlet manifold and also a choke cable.
One thing I thought I better advise you on, the pivot for the accelerator pump has a reverse thread screw on it. if you tighten it fully up it makes the pump linkage too tight.
Now the fact it is reverse thread probably means its not meant to be too tight. I would keep an eye on it anyway and if does tend to work its way loose maybe put a dab of Loctite blue on it.
I have a photo of the remaining install instructions for your choke kit here too
cheers

Great, thanks rappy, you have been so kind with all this :)

is there any setting on that reverse thread? if not I may but some locktite on it first while the carbs off the motor :)

Mark, thanks for that pic, makes it a lot clearer, wonder how many brand new rings I will break getting them off the piston only to have to put them back on lol

thats 24 rings off and 24 rings on without breaking any or getting them back in the wrong place/way up :(

boo hoo.

for the stud kits I need a loctite with a long set up time- suggestions?

mark and anyone else who has done this recently, when you packed the oil pump with Vaseline and bolted it back together did it become too hard to turn with just your fingers on the keyway of the shaft?

mine is a high volume upgrade of the early pre 76 pump, so I am worried the gears are a tight fit on end float however when I loosened the cover off by 2mm its still too hard to turn with just your fingers now its packed with Vaseline but there is loads of endfloat so I just want to be sure before I finally bolt it up. :D

hmm odd, I was just trying to turn it with my fingers, it was fine dry with the cover off and now with the Vaseline in there it very tight torqued up or not :(

nope just my fingys, I can turn it if I put a screwdriver in sideways but it seems stiffer than I would like

yeah on the car lol

use a battery drill to turn it. Suction is what you got;) trying to put the vaseline through then oil ways takes some pressure. try KY next time:eek::pound:

jon lol and mark I see the standard set up but mines a new high volume kit with longer gears and a spacer plate so am a bit worried somethings tight although I did dry fit it all with the correct shims etc etc so v odd.

so with the drill tool but in hadn not it drill how hard is it to turn it? and does it vary depending on which way you turn it?

easy way would be back to pick up tube, hard way is direction of flow to oil ways which will be hard putting your sex lube through a small hole:eek:
