Hi everybody,
i'm gonna take my time and explain the whole situation as best i can so kick back cuddle up with ya hot chocolate or buckfast or whatever your into and lets begin! Ok i recently was given a 130 300tdi by the missus brother it sounds more generous than it was ! its a 98 build with a hard life behind it , it spent the first part of its life as a Quarry service vehicle and the second on the brothers farm. Soooo i got it over to my place with the big plans of turning it into an overlander and before i completely strip it down and give it a rebuild would like to have it running before i begin. The Landy has been sat about 4years and before i tried to start it i fit a new air filter and oil filter cranked it over and with a little pilot start managed to get it to idle! for about five minutes.Ok i bled the fuel system (diesel smelt like terpentine!) added fresh diesel and replaced the stop solenoid .I removed the glow plugs and after testing them none were working (waiting for new ones in the post) Since then i have replaced all fuel lines with transparent pipe and will feed fuel from a separate source (in case tank has corroded fuel pipe connections). My main worry now is the wiring loom to the fuel stop solenoid has three wires entering it and two have been cut! (view attachment)will the engine still run ? it ticked over! the only wire exiting the connection on the loom goes to the stop solenoid but i am guessing one of the others should maybe go to the spade connector on the back of injector pump. Quite possibly its all immobiliser related (hope not i do not need an immobiliser! and electrically im a complete giblet ) any help with any of the above will be hugely appreciated hope i didn't bore you all to death .;)

you got a wider pic?
From your description it sounds like your getting confused, the stop solenoid IS the spade terminal on the back of the injector pump.
That pic looks more like the throttle position sensor for the EGR valve.

Just cutting the wires for the stop solenoid won't work, the electronics gubbins on the top/side of the solenoid see to that ... However, and here's a big clue, the fuel stop solenoid itself is a 'normal' single wire solenoid ...

OK just got home from work and have taken a few more pictures , Just to be clear i know that the stop solenoid only has one wire leading to it but mine is a bolted connection not a spade , I'm more confused as to what the other two wires should be doing and where they should be attached! Managed to get a pic of other spade connection under pump looks like a sensor? any way I'm none the wiser. Cheers.
